No this isn’t a ‘Wanted Poster’ (although I know some of you might think maybe it should be!?) but it is an ‘Open Notice of Introduction and Recognition’ to the Trustees, Committees and Members of HEDCA.
THANK YOU FOR YOUR UNANIMOUS SUPPORT IN VOTING ME, LES HEYHOE BCAv AT THE HEDCA AGM HELD TUESDAY 7PM 6TH JUNE 2023 AS YOUR ‘HEDCA MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE (HMC) CHAIRPERSON’ FOR THE PERIOD 2023 TO 2024.
Prior to a quick introduction and how I see fulfilling my newly elected position, I would like to share with you my thoughts and comments, and to take this opportunity to personally
thank the ‘Outgoing Chair’ Trevor Howson for his past years’ service in maintaining the stability and resourcefulness of HEDCA through the ‘highs & lows’, especially during Covid. Although I can’t speak on your behalf, but I am sure you will agree, that thanks and recognition is conveyed not only to Trevor but all those outgoing officials for their past years’ service and beyond.
I look forward to working with the Vice Chair Sylvie Hasson and the rest of the elected HMC (old and new) together with all the elected Trustees, Social Chair & Committee Members and welcome those that have temporarily volunteered because without them all, HEDCA would not exist! A reminder that you ‘do not need to be a committee member to support & volunteer’ so ask?
As stated at the AGM, I feel that one of my first priorities and goals is to ensure that ‘my/our House is in order’ (if it works then why change or ‘fix it’) and by this, I mean a rigorous review and update of our existing HEDCA Constitution. A good place to start I feel. Whilst I will endeavour to attend and support as many social functions as I can, I don’t feel that it is always necessary as my presence will not make a difference ‘to an existing smoothly operated social machine’ so may it continue, as I am sure it will. However, YOU DO HAVE MY ASSURANCE that HEDCA will receive 100% of my commitment and effort in whatever I am asked or become involved with.
